You actually get a refund against the cost and not OBC as long as you have not made a final payment, I done this last year and on a Med cruise and got £490 off original cost - Best of luck .

You can get a refund if you have not made final payment. The first refund is free, any further refunds will cost you a 35 pounds admin fee... If you have made final payment then they will credit you with OBC. Just make sure you spend it all or you will lose it. If the cruise is cancelled then they should roll it over onto your next reservation.

PG of A - Answered a Question by Tinman (18 Mar 11 19:02)

That is the reason we now only book in advance with RCI and Celebrity. It is very annoying when you book a cruise only to find they are selling the identical, if not a better accommodation for less than half what you paid, and they are throwing in some on board credit as well. That has happened to us with Cunard; it will never happen again as we will never book in advance with them, just wait to see if they are selling them off cheaper near to the sail date.

Thank You for your advice. We went to our local travel agent today (Thomas Cook). We had already paid the final payment. They phoned RCL who agreed that the price had dropped. RCL e-mailed a new statement to Thomas Cook who made a refund to my bank account. We were very impressed with Thomas Cook and RCL in the way they handled this situation. The travel advisor at Thomas Cook said that she had been in the travel industry for 15 years and this was her first RCL price promise that she had dealt with. In the past we have booked our cruise early but the next cruise will be booked much nearer to the departure date.

Keep watching those prices, if they drop again, you know what to do....

Is this for cruise only? What if the cabin price has gone down but your package includes flights.

Ships Collide !

By Richard Smith

Richard Smith's blog

Watch this video on YouTube.I was shocked earlier this week to read a story of the new Seabourn Encore ship colliding with another ship.It turns out that the collision was minor and thankfully no-one was hurt but what left me wondering was how something like this could happen in the first place. The new ship was docked in Timaru, New Zealand at the time and was actually delayed in departure due to the strong winds there. The ship ended up breaking it’s moorings due to the strong winds an...

Balconies in the Arctic Wou...

By Ben Allsopp

Ben Allsopp's blog

Quite recently with the launch of some very exciting itineraries, I have had a lot of bookings for the Northern Lights and Arctic voyages of late and every customer has asked me for a Balcony. I feel this is because these cruises are for the destination and the clientele tends to be very well travelled. As people cruise more and more, by the third of fourth time- They tend to go for a balcony cabin and it is very hard to go back down to an ocean view or an inside from there. But the point I am ...
