No, since 9/11 there are no left luggage facilities in NYC. Best bet is to get a city tour so your luggage goes with you . You will be able to find many places via google that offer this. RCI does not offer a post cruise city tour that ends at the airport for some reason.

Just as a matter of interest The Holiday Inn at Newark Airport will, if they are available, let you have a day room for about $69. This allows you to leave your luggage, have a wash or shower before leaving for you flight a few minutes away and shoot off into New York for a few hours. There will be other hotels that afford this facility, possible cheaper. You have time to do some research before you go but I suggest that you do research and confirm as much as possible and time your routes and tour in advance to maximise your enjoyment. I have not checked out JFK as by the time you leave the ship at Cape Liberty and get across to that airport you should be able to check you luggage in and then do a short tour……good luck…..Nei.

There is somewhere to leave your cases as we was given the information in November when we was on the Royal Caribben Explorer of the seas, just ask at the desk when you are on there. However my husband and I went straight to Newark airport, I went up to the airlines bboking in desk and was told we could book our cases in.This was 11.30 for our flight at 9.00Then we caught the airport train and changed to a PATH line and went into New York for the day.

As I said go to airport ask when can you book cases in. Mind you saying that can you book your cases in on line before you arrive and leave.?This is what we did. which was with Contenental airline.

It takes a while to get off and we paid for the RCI bus to Newark airport. (if the boat is late there may not be many taxis waiting) On arrival around 11.30 we found we could check our bags straight in as the airport was quiet. We then took the inter terminal train (to stop 4 I think) and there is a (20 min or so interval) free bus to a Newark Shopping Mall (Short Mills I think) - it takes about 10 minutes and costs $4 each to return. With over a hundred stores and lots of restaurants its more relaxing than a trip in to NY and recommended - unless you havent been in to NY when I would say thats a must. If you have additional baggage allowance you can buy another case and fill it and check it in later. Good luc.

A mini cruise to remember..

By Ruby Perkins

Ruby Perkins's blog

I’ve just come back form a cheeky three night mini cruise with the girls so I thought I would give you a sneaky peak at some of our best bits.We were a large party of twelve with a mixture of friends, some who had met through www.CRUISE.co.uk. Some of us are still here but others had moved on to pastures new, so it’s always nice to catch up with everybody to see what people have been up to and what’s new in their lives. Not everybody knew each other which was also nice as we all...

Two nights on Indy..

By Alison Ranaldi

Alison Ranaldi's blog

Last week I spent two nights on the newly revamped Independence of the Seas.We sailed from Southampton in glorious sunshine to Le Havre and back. This was my third time on board this ever-popular ship and I was keen to see the changes to her after a big refit. We had a balcony cabin on deck 9 which had everything we needed for a comfortable break. I’m not generally a fan of mini-cruises. They offer an excellent way for someone like myself to see the ships but I do not think they are a g...
