Drinks on most standard ships are no more expensive than you would find in a bar in town. For example £2.50 per pint (although on RCCL they charge in dollars )cocktails can be a little more and usually they have certain drinks on offer so look out for those.

In addition, don't buy alcohol ashore to smuggle on board to drink - unfortunately most cruiselines are wise to this and scan your bags when you get back on the ship. They usually it and give it you back at the end of your cruise!

Hello! Very pleased to see that you are eager to go on Jewel of the Seas. Tell your partner not to worry it won't cost a fortune!! I have had a look at some of the bar menus for you and here are some examples- a beer on Jewel of the Seas will start at $4 on the current menu; Cocktails start at $8- obviously these may be subject to change and are literally a guideline for your reference. I hope that this puts his mind at ease and I hope you both have a wonderful time on the lovely Jewel of the Seas! Anna.

Go for it! It's a faboulous ship ( i've been on the sister ship Radiance.) Last time i cruise with RCCL in Dec '06 you were allowed 2 litres of alcohol on per cabin. Also RCCL prices are a little cheaper then other cruise lines for drinks. I promise you aboard that beautiful ship, it'll be a trip of a lifetime.

Port Or Starboard? Whats t...

By Gina Rowan

I wish I had a pound for every time I have been asked this question. I could have sailed around the world in Luxury! Aah yes! but would I choose Port or Starboard for my cabin? Or left side versus the right side of the ship?I suppose it depends on where you’re headed. I know that quite a few seasoned cruisers swear by the Starboard side. Although it really depends on what type of cruise you are on.For instance, if you are sailing in one direction, North or West generally people pr...

A Majestic Atrium the heart of the ship.

By DJ Weatherall

DJ Weatherall's blog

Majestic and her stunning atrium is the heart of the shipThe Plaza on Majestic is on Deck 5 – from here you can access 3 decks either by marble staircase or Panoramic Lifts – it is without doubt the heart of the ship. There are restaurants and bars, cafe’s and lounges, speciality tea and coffee takeaway or sit down areas and the all important shops.I know some lines prefer to have a royal promenade that runs along the centre of the ship – but Majestic just like Royal a...

MSC Loyalty Match scheme a hit!!

By Brad Smith

Brad Smith's blog

MSC have launched a new incentive to attract new customers and reward existing clients with an offer of matching customers loyalty level with competitors. Rather that just stop at matching cruise line loyalty levels, they have gone as far as matching loyalty levels for hotel chains and tour operators too.Clever move in my opinion, as I have many customers that specifically stick to a specific company as their loyalty levels are at the top level, so they love the perks they receive from their ...
