Yes, and it can be a very lenghty process waiting in long queues if you go in person. There are a couple of reliable internet addresses, where, if you pay a little extra, they will go to the embassy and obtain the visa for yo.

On Star cruises which own N.C.L. the ship gets a block visa for everybody who wants to go ashore. Visas are very expensive it cost us last year 100 pounds sterling for 2 multiple entry visas. Beware in Vietnam as they believe all Westeners are walking A.T.M.s not as gentle as portrayed. We are Australians that may be part of the reason. Enjoy your cruise and if you want to know anymore about Vietnam email me on emjay2@westnet.com.au Regards Maurice Lamberth.

You always have to get your own visa's, as there may be questions a third party could not answe.

We are also going on the RCI far east cruise in March and have had a letter from them about visas.Visas are provided aboard ship at a cost of 28usd for a Cambodian visa and 25usd for a Vietnamese visa - whether its cheaper to get one yourself beforehand I do not Kno.

Hi I think it depends on which itinery you are going on. I have booked 2 back to back cruises from Hong Kong with Rci in March 07. They havejust advised me that they can provide a visa for Vietnam and Cambodia for 25/28 dollars per person. I am hoping they might do the same for China as we are stoping at Hainan island, but no word yet. I believe that British Nationals do not need a Visa for visiting Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan. Hope this helps.

No one has mentioned China which is also included on some of the Rhapsody itineries - you MUST get your own visa for China. As mentioned before - RCI will assist you getting the Cambodia/Viewnam visas on the shi.

Single Traveller on Celebrity ...

By Dawn Gardener

This week I would like to thank one of my clients for allowing me to use her story regarding a recent experience that she had on Celebrity Cruises. As per her wishes I will not be using her real name but she knows who she is, I think we agreed on ‘mad cat woman’ hahaAnyway, ‘Julie’ is a very professional single woman and likes to cruise. This summer after many previous cruises with the likes of P&O and Norwegian cruise lines, ‘Julie’ decided she wanted...

Brief Moments In Bruges

By Michaela Kilburn

Michaela Kilburn's blog

Day two of my trip on Ventura and once our conference had come to an end, we had the option to visit Bruges, a place I had never been to before and was very much looking forward to visit. We boarded our coach ready for the journey to Bruges. This took around 20 minutes or so then we were off to explore.I loved the feel of the place. It is such a pretty city to be in with cobbled stoned streets and medieval buildings. A popular way to getting around is by Horse and cart. I had to move e...

Are PO getting fussy?

By Neil Holmes

Neil Holmes's blog

P&O cruises have recently announced that they are banning fancy dress on all of their cruises! Even mini cruises which historically are booked by new to cruise passengers and parties who are celebrating.I can understand that if you are new to cruising and you book a taster cruise to see if you like it and there is a group of rowdy Hens, Stags or a group celebrating a birthday for example II can see how this is off putting.Cruising is meant to be fun, enjoyment and create memories. These ...
