we went on the independence in April and our friend with us had a strawberry alergy, we told our waiters once, and for the rest of the 14 nights, he made sure all food and sauces were strawberry free, and if there was any doubt he would advice against it, so as long as you inform the relevant staff, you will be fine.

hi just make sure you carry at least 2 epipens with you at all times. just remember in the self service resturant it wont be as easy to find something that is nut free, i would eat all meals. if poss, in the main dining room. but never be afraid to ask any of the staff or the manager as they will do anything that they can to help.

Royal Caribbean do cater for all sorts of food allergies and intollerances. Make sure that they have this information about your daughter before you board and on arriving on board. They will do all they can to help you.

My daughter has a nut allergy and also other food allergies and we were on a RCI cruise Seranade, the dining room staff were excellent and informed at dinner in the restaurant in the evening what was available to eat tomorrow evening free from nuts etc and what would be on offer in windjammer etc.the next day In the windjammer, there is someone in charge or you can ask staff behind the counters and we cannot fault the service we had regarding this.of course you have to look for areas where nuts are served etc in case food has been contaminated by public. RCI was the best cruise we have had regarding allergies

Let the Travel Agent know. When you board, remind the Purser's Office, then the Maitre D'. Every Cruise ship caters for allergies.

Bit late I know but I would have found out before I booked depending upon how serious an allergy your daughter has. A friend of mine has a child who is so restricted because of her nut allergy, she can't be near any nuts never mind ingest them.

In there guest document it states.....Please submit your dietary request to us in writing in advance of sailing include as much detail as possible. Putting it in writting is a good idea, if heaven forbid something goes wrong. RCCL dont like being sued. Ring them though 0800 0182020...Tell them the problem.... When on board ask to see the Executive Chef..He will help

I'd suggest that whilst her allergy may be catered for in the main dining room, she ought to steer well clear of the buffet, where there is every possibility that nuts or nut-related products may be used in any dish served. If she's the type of person who goes into anaphylactic shock when she comes into the vaguest contact with nuts, I'd be seriously concerned about whether the food prepared for her in the main dining room was 'clean' enough, to be honest. You really do need to talk to someone at RCI urgently.

I too have a nut allergy and I always at the earliest date phone the Cruise company that we are going with and let them know, so that they can relay this information to the other restaurants so that they know my name. They then look after me very well. My husband is also Diabetic and they also cater for him. So give Royal Caribbean a ring and let them know. forewarned is forearmed. Hope this helps.
