we tried to walk it not a good idea, we ended up getting a taxi between four of us and caught the shuttle bus back, or get a taxi back

We walked into Arrecife from IOTS in June. It takes about 45 minutes alongside a major road for most of the way. If you decide to walk one way and ride back think about a taxi rather than the shuttle bus. One way on the shuttle bus is 10 dollars each. One way in a taxi is 7 euros for the group.

Were in Lanzarote recently and know some people went into the town a couple of times and we were only in port for one day. It certainly is industrial round the port but the shuttle will take you into town in a few minutes. We did the half-day Fire Mountain excursion and it was interesting (apart from the inevitable stop of the horrible tourist-trap shop.

The cruise port is at Arrecife, but the dock is in an industrial area about 2-3 miles from the town....Brian
