Highly recommend pub called Mistley Thorn- just 10 minutes to Harwich and awesome views of river Stour, lovely large rooms and bathrooms and wonderful food. They have a website.

We stayed at "THE PIER HOTEL" in Harwich in June. It was fine but not cheap. Very convenient for the cruise terminal. Peter Chadwic.

Try the Holiday Inn at Colchester. They may have some parking/coach transfer deals as well.

I strongly recommend the Marks Tey Hotel, in colchester but very close to Harwich. They have great rooms, health club with swiming pool, and fantastic restaurant. We also stayed there once for day board so checked in 1pm had room, swim, meal and checked out at 10am to board a late cruise. Cost 65, bargain. Website same name as hote.
