The Celebrity ships and service are higher than the Royal Caribbean ships even though they are the same company. But you get what you pay for and Celebrity is more expensive. For both of these you will get a more American attitude to the deck games and the service. Some people don't like this. As far as I am concerned both these cruise lines knock P & O into a cocked hat especially of late. P & O have, since the "Merger", cut so many corners that their standard has dropped in so many aspects and I will not be using them again because the alternatives out there are far superior. You will get a lot of people contradicting with this but I am willing to bet that the majority have tried nothing else so they have no gauge to measure with. Am I stirring it....yes because I think it is time P & O pulled their socks up.....Neil Down.

We went on Legend of the Sea in 2006 sailing from Southampton and we really couldn't fault it - we had a balcony cabin which was always kept immaculate - all the crew were more than helpful. The dining room waiters etc were great and food was really good. We have been this year on Navigator of the Seas from Southampton and we found the same service on there and staff couldn't do enough for us. Anyway hope you enjoy Legend of the Seas - I'll be surprised if you don't.

I travelled on Legend last summer, and have also sailed on Adonia, Oceana, Oriana and Artemis. To be honest, I thought Legend was very, very similar to the P & O ships of a comparable size. Have a great cruise.

We had a fantastic cruise on the Legend last year. Food, service, accommodation, entertainment all wonderful! We were so sad when the holiday ended as we had met some wonderful people who went out of their way to make it a truly magical holiday. I am sure you will love it.

Why is it all about the kids?

By Leanne Mudd

Royal Caribbean announced last month the exciting new features for Independence of the Seas after her refit in early 2018, but I can’t help feeling it’s all about the kids! And what are we going to loose on board to make room for these new features as they are not building an extension to accommodate it all.I sailed on this ship when she first launched back in 2007 and loved it back then. When i went back in 2016, it felt like she hadn’t changed, which in some ways was good ...

The UKs favourite family ship ...

By Rosie Taylor

Rosie Taylor's blog

The Independence of the seas first sailed over 10 years ago now and has spent most of the summer months sailing out of Southampton. The ship is purpose built to deal with all sorts of weather and is very popular with the Brits. It doesnt matter who you ask about the Independence… they always have great feedback and find it hard to look at other ships as an alternative.Just recently, however a few have said the carpets are a bit worn in the cabins, could do with a lick of paint, the smoke...

Will I be below the water line?

By Jo Cunningham

Jo Cunningham's blog

“Will I be below the water line?” is a question that I am frequently asked when selling both river and oceans cruises. For an oceans cruise this is a simple question to answer, as whilst the lower deck cabins are numbered 1 or 2 and sound close to the water, there are always at least a couple of crew decks below, meaning that even on a low passenger deck you are still very clear of the water.River boats are smaller though and typically only have 3 or 4 decks to them, with deck ...
