Hi Camilleri , Now there is a Maltese name. The Empress will be sailing from Malta this October and my Family will all be on it on the 8th , I personally have been on the Empress at least 4 times (all Pullmantur Cruises). The best place to look for the information is pullmantur.es click the English button go to bottom of the page and click on the Empress , you can take a 360 degree look at the ship. Please dont take any notice of PG of A , he or she seem to be obsessed with the Berlitz book, and probably the nearest thing to a Pullmantur Cruise he/she has taken is an internet search. Another bit of bad information PG is throwing at you is that you can smoke anywhere , SURPRISE SURPRISE YOU CAN`T , PULLMANTUR HAVE BEEN A NON SMOKING CRUISE LINE FOR 3 YEARS. If you cannot get want you want from the website , I am Pullmanturs Preferred Agent in the UK & Ireland and help set up this deal in Malta , I believe my friends from SMS (Orange Cruises are dealing with it )you can check my wesite out vamosholidays.com , do get in touch if you need anything.

Select "Pullmantur" in the drop down section at the top of the reviews page and then click on the red "search reviews" button. There is at least one review there, from which the ship sounds very nice - which isn't surprising as it's a former RCI ship, now owned by it's subsidiary Pullmantur.

We sailed on her as Empress of the Seas in 2007 ex San Juan around the Caribbean. Ship's layout was good with a walk round promenade deck. We had a stern view suite which had a huge balcony but which caught a lot of oily soot from the funnel, hopefully in the last 5 years it has had an injector service! The ship sailed smoothly in the calm & light seas we encountered, I recall that there were lots of windows into the public areas. Ours was a10 day cruise and the ship worked well for that duration.....Richard B

She was a Royal Caribbean ship, the Empress of the Seas, before they sold her to Pullmantour for the Spanish market. http://www.beyondships.com/Pull-Empress-essay.html Do a search on You Tube, you will find lots of videos of her before and after she went to Pullmantour.

The ship is only rated as 3* by Berlitz. "Empress is best suited to Spanish speaking couples and singles ...... lots of noise and good cheer..." I also believe that smoking is acceptable just about anywhere on the ship
