Whether it does or not, can you rely on everyone washing their hands properley? I feel the regular sanitising is a good thing.

Wash your hands regularly and thoroughly, don't touch handrails, lift buttons etc. Don't shake hands with the Captain! Get your hygiene right and you are less likely to contract Norovirus. It's in the ships interest to display good hygiene procedures so I'm surprised they weren't.
