Q: Please can someone give me some advise about River cruising, I have recently booked the Alan Titchmarch cruise on the MV mozart as surprise for my wife who loves gardening, but not having done a river cruise before I am getting a bit apprehensive and worried about whether she will enjoy it. Can anyone give me some advise as what to expect and how I can make the most out of it. Thanks 1 answer

Hello, I have also booked the cruise as a surprise for my husband who is a Gardener. After I booked it though, I am not sure now if there is going to be much reference to gardening on the cruise. I know Alan is a Gardener but he is also a celebrity now. Like you I am wondering how we will enjoy it. We have done a Danube cruise previously and have visited all the places en route. They are lovely and I am looking forward to spending time in them once again. When we visit Melk Abbey I am hoping we can skip the tour of the Abbey as we have done it before and spend some time visiting the gardens. Last time there was virtually no time to do both. That is just an idea - you never know Alan might decide to do the same! I am sure his talks will be fun. There is also evening entertainment which is probably going to be middle of the road I should imagine. We went on a classical music cruise last time as my husband also likes that as well as being passionate about gardening. Hope you will enjoy it.
