Dont tell anybody but Neil & Ida Down!!... are related to... sorry I daren't say for fear of sleeping with the fishes!
I dont think they work for P & O despite living locally ! - most support goes to RCI but to be fair, I think they have many years of cruising behind them and that coupled with quickly doing additional research via the internet, makes them knowledgeable. However, I am sure they will answer your question soon unless they are away on another cruise. Good luck to them, I have only been cruising 11 years and find neil both amusing and informative.
Strangely enough P&O were one of our customers at one time as was Princess and Cunard but then so were the Geest Banana Boats and several Container Companies. The full answer is that we are just nosey and talk to everyone .... and as Matt has so rightly pointed out .... WE FORGET NOTHING.
Kindest regards, ... Neil and Ida.
Follow up to an earlier comment made by me, I am convinced N&I Down are on the board of ....... or related to .......... or are cruise only travel agents.
However, they are very amusing and knowledgeable!
I promise you, not so, wrong and definitely not in that order. We have no connection with any company except "Good Company" .... Neil.
Neil & Ida i think you are very helpfull to first time cruisers, myself i am not a first time cruiser but youre knowledge is very good, i am going on oriana next year for theee weeks, so i will be staying in youre hometown before we sail hopefully novotel couldnt get in this year due to the yachts beeing there it was full up, i love southampton for the shops.
Thanks Neil and Ida for your answer although I dont know if I believe that you dont work for a Cruise Company as your answers are so good and you have certainly helped us to learn more about Cruising as this will be our 1st cruise ever and if it was not for you and www.CRUISE.co.uk we would be really ignorant of what to expect on a cruise. You have helped loads of people and I enjoy reading your sensible and sometimes funny comments. We go on Ventura ion 5/12 and although Ventura's reviews are not all good we are still looking forward to it and finding out for ourselves. Thanks a million!
Hi Neil and Ida, This is the 3rd email I have sent to thank-you for answering the question and i cant understand why the 1st two have not shown uo while the one I sent to Burling showed straight away..Si I will repeat what I ahve already said.... Thanks for answering my question although I find it hard to believe that you dont work for a Cruise company now as you have so many really good answers and have been so helpful to us and many other people who need a question answered. If it was not for you two and www.CRUISE.co.uk we would be going on our 1st ever Cruise in Dec on Ventura totally ignorant of what to expect so its nice to be able to find someone who has good answers and a sense of humour. so just wanted to say "Thanks a Million". We know that Ventura has not had the best reviews but will soon find out for ourselves but of course wont have any other cruise ship to compare it with.
Thanks Nik I have taken note of your email addres so I will probably need you some time.
Don't know if you are the Nik I spoke to (via email) but we had a fantastic holiday on board Star, better than previous cruises ie Thomsons, RCI Voyager and several others. Neil & Ida... think your covers just about blown. Time to change your names.....
