We were on the Ventura in July - no charges for shuttle buses although the ice cream was not free.
Returned from cruise on Oriana 27 July 2008 to Fjords - no charges for Shuttle Bus service at Bergen. No charges for Tender transfer at next stop either.
I was on the Baltic Cruise in July on Oriana, also no charges for shuttles buses or tenders. Don't think ice cream is free anymore.
If they started charging for tender transfers I think there would be a mutiny as it is tantamount to making you pay should you want to get off the ship. Maybe they have employed someone from Ryanair to investigate ways of extracting every last penny out of their customers. If so then the obvious next step would be to charge for every suitcase loaded onto the ship! Now that would be interesting. Lets hope no one from the cruise companies reads these postings.
I think if the cruise Companies did read these reviews things could greatly improve all round, so they obviously don't ( even though they can from onboard ) or couldn't care less.
When did you ever see a reply or comment on this site from a ship saying they were going to look into it???
Wouldn't be surprised, even cruise ships will be feeling the pinch!
This has not been substantiated yet but it came from a friend whose daughter had just come off a P&O cruise, but I am really after confirmation that the principle was set. ... Neil.
Just returned last week from a cruise on the 0riana and there was no charge for Port Shuttle Buses or for Tender Transfers, you had to pay for ice-creams but then we did on another of their ship's back in 2005 , so it is not a new thing .
