We bought a limited edition Nechita and several other pieces including a Dali. We had them valued at Bonhams and several other auctioeers and they laughed us out of the place. They might seem like a bargain on board but try selling them then you will find out their true value.

Neil and Ida Down - Answered a Question by Northover (10 Dec 07 20:42)

Some people love them, others go for the free drinks but I think that the majority of us consider them to be a waste of space, invasive and not worth a second thought. What is certain is that they have become very popular with the Cruise Lines and somebody is making a whole haep of money from them. I wonder who?....Neil.

Rubbish over valued art with free flowing champers to get the crowds in. Don't waste your time or money.

They are not really an auction as no one seems to ever bid against one another. However, some works are in fact cheaper than high street galleries, so for the art educated, there are some good deals to be had. BUT...be wary of the auction and delivery fees, which can pump the price back up to high street pricing. In other words, do your research before you board and you will do okay. I bought a limited edition Nechita on the Queen Mary 2 for over $1000 less than I could find anywhere onshore. So I dont fully agree with the "rubbish" or the "over valued" comments, as if you go in with your eyes open you can actually grab the odd bargain.

This Is A Really Good Deal But...

Price is obviously a huge factor when booking and cruise or holiday, so looking through the deals on our website 599 per person for a 10 night cruise looks like a really good deal. A look at the itinerary though might make you think it`s a bit cold in this region in December.P&O`s Aurora is one of her much loved older, smaller by today`s standards, ships. This itinerary sets sail on 6th December 2017 and calls at Hamburg, at 2 day stop in Copenhagen, Olso, Amsterdam and Zeebrugge for Bru...

A Majestic Atrium the heart of the ship.

By DJ Weatherall

DJ Weatherall's blog

Majestic and her stunning atrium is the heart of the shipThe Plaza on Majestic is on Deck 5 – from here you can access 3 decks either by marble staircase or Panoramic Lifts – it is without doubt the heart of the ship. There are restaurants and bars, cafe’s and lounges, speciality tea and coffee takeaway or sit down areas and the all important shops.I know some lines prefer to have a royal promenade that runs along the centre of the ship – but Majestic just like Royal a...
