Not been on Oceania cruises but on other cruises have seen Highland dress on formal nights(but not often) and very smart it looks too.
I have seen and admired Scotsmen who have been dressed in traditional highland outfits on formal nights at sea. It makes a welcome change.......Id.
Hi from Lossie! Absolutely, kilts are often worn and more and more Trews being seen as well. You'll see plenty with P&O on Oceania, bit more of a raity on Princess and the other american ships but the americans love to see tartan. Enjoy the cruise, just done a review of itinerary for friends in south setting off on the same cruise next week. You'll love it.
Hi again from Lossie! Second attempt at posting response. Absolutely, lets see if this one gets posted.
Your answer is YE.
Most people tend to keep to balck & white and wear dinner suits on formal nights, but I have seen a few men in traditional Scottish dress they usually tend to wear the trousers though rather than kilt.
I haven't actually seen it myself but I doubt it would be a problem. In fact I am sure it would be very well received. The men try to vary their outfits and there are combinations of black shirts, white jackets etc. and of course lounge suits are allowed so go for it! You may want to bring something for Black and White night, but it wouldn't be essential.
Yes, have been on many P & O Cruises and the Scotsmen in their kilts on formal nights look wonderful. There are some who wear the tartan trousers, but the kilts do look magnificent.
Yes, absolutely - but leave your sgian dubh behind. Apparently, it's more of a security risk than a steak knife.
