The Arcadia was Fantastic!!!! in every aspect, from the food to the entertainment. The Brittish pub had its own entertainment most nights awell as west end style shows in the main auditurium. I was fortunate to cruise on her in her maiden year to the Caribbean, my husband and I will cruise on her again definately. Kath Marley NOTTINGHAM U.

Arcadia has its own theatre company and tends to put on compilation shows from the musicals or select composers like LLod webber and perform his music. The standard is generally pretty high and the shows are well attended. I have been on Arcadia twice now and am going again in May and have really enjoyed this Ship.

The best site to visit is the PNO web site and select the cruise and see what information they give. Having crusied on many PNO sips the variety shows are good, and the Revue shows in the dance area have been better. One year they did a tribute to Queen/Freddie Mercury the best show seen on any cruise we have been on. However last year on Arcadia the shows were not so good, and they were charging for £2.00 for the programmes, but this is way thinks are goign with cut backs. Thewy were also cahrging £5.00 entranc e fee for special lecutures as well. Any have a good cruise .

You will not be able to find out in advance which entertainers will be on board next summer. From what I can gather they do not arrange things that far in advance. We are on Arcadia next Feb. and I'm sure we will enjoy the entertainment whatever it is.

We went on the Arcadia last July 22nd - 13 nights up the Norwegian Fjords. This was our first (and last) cruise with P&O, having done 11 with RCCL and 9 with 4 other cruise lines it was the most ever expensive and by far the least value for money. However, the Palladium Theatre was one item which you could put into the "excellent" category. The shows (even 2 nights with Bobby Crush) were also well worth seeing. The effort and dedication shown by the dancers/accrobats (they do one night's cirque de soliel) comes through in their performance. Apart from the really good food in the Meridian (main) restaurant the food in the Belvedere left much to be desired. Instead of helping yourself to whatever you fancy you have to queue whilst those ahead of you are being given ladelsfull of food by staff who each cover maybe 4 or 5 items. On RCCL you help yourself and the waiters/waitresses come round offering to get free cold or hot drinks, or anything else you may need.

In September there was bands in the british pub, piano bar and the crows nest as well as at least 4 nights there was something on in the bar area on the Lower Meridian deck aswell as the Globe theatre. We did not see programs for £2 and the lecture I thought were free, maybe we just missed the pay bit.The theatre company did a tribute to Abba but the Cirque Arcadia was good.We met one of the dancers in the gym most days, they certainly earn their money. We never bothered with the Brit pub other than to watch sport but went to different bars the Orchid was favorite before dinner(late sitting) then did the show and after that upto the Crows nest for the quiz then some music after that. One point I will make is that people on the early sitting were wandering round in there best bib and tucker at most of the sail aways which was a bit sureal.

P&O Cruises recently announced that that would be building a 9th ship to join the P&O Fleet in 2020. This comes only two years after the Britannia was released and I am pleased to say that after quite a few problems she has become a firm favourite in the P&O Fleet.Hopefully P&O will take forward the feedback on Britannia but we are yet to see what this new ship will look like; all P&O have said is that she will be 180,000 Gross tons and carry 5,200 Guests. This is the larg...
