If you want this cruise you have to be quick as balcony cabins are nearly sold out you may have to try more than one travel agent further discounts are unlikely as this is a new ship and demand is high p&o is good cruise line look at the cruise line boards weather in December warm to hot .

I am going on this cruise next year, and I booked it about three months ago. P&O are very competitively priced for next year. We go every year in December and the weather is fabulous. Have a good phone around as some companies are offering on board credit deals on this cruise. I got £300 on my booking. Kind regard.

We are going on the same Cruise with Ventura in Dec and we also have abalcony cabin we booked the week the booking started and it was cheaper than what you are paying we were told the earlier you book the cheaper it is and looking at the website now it really has went up but I wonder if leaving it until the last minuite would be even cheaper!!! Weather in December has supposed to be better than July and as there are not normally hurricanes at that time it should be good weather. Hurricanes are normally from middle of Aug until early Nov.If you look at the P andO website you will be able to see a video of how beautiful the Ventura will be when it is finished.

We go to the caribbean every Christmas/ new year and the weather is usually fantastic. I recommend you look at a few cruise specialist websites to get the best deal and book now. There is a risk that there will be no places available if you leave it til the last minute because Christmas time cruises usually end up with a wait list for spare cabins. We're going on the Oceana in Dec 2008 and booked it as soon as it went on sale to get a very good deal.

I have looked at booking through a couple of different companies, but I don't seem to be able to pick my cabin/deck with the slightly cheaper ones i've seen. Can anybody recommend a company.

I use Liverpool Cruise Club, try them for a good deal. As for waiting till later if you want a balcony cabin booking early is a definite advantage, cheaper prices and they will be available, if you wait, as others have said already you may well not even get on the ship, never mind get a balcony cabin.

RCI Explorer of the Seas is working out cheaper - goes from NY on 31Nov08 12n southern caribbean cruise incl flts from manchester in a balc is £1631.18pp - and that includes the early booking disc. You also have the advantage with RCI that if you spot a price drop in the future they will honour that! I have just had a £100pp price drop refunded on my March09 cruise.
