Merrick - Answered a Question by Rossiter (14 Sep 07 14:16)

Hi there, we cruised on Oceana in the Caribbean a few years ago and you will find that there will only be a couple of formal nights where evening dress and dress suits are required. There are a couple of informal nights where ladies can wear cocktail dresses and gentlemen can wear blazers with smart trousers, then most of the other nights are casual. When we went you were given an additional 5kgs on your luggage allowance which helped. Regards, Karen Merric.

Good answer for the evenings from my friend in Soton but the daytime will be very warm to hot with the possibility of occasional showers so take light clothing. There is still a chance of a storm in November but you won't need your wellies. DFo remeber that when you leave and when you return there is a strong chance of needing a woolie pullie ....Ida Dow.

You only need shorts and t-shirts for days ashore in the Caribbean. Check your cruise information booklet to see how many formal nights you have - either long and short evening dresses are suitable.. Other than that, just smart casual wear.

There are not usually informal evenings on a Caribbean cruise assuming it's a fly cruise. There are usually 4 formal evenings and the rest smart casual. The only exception is on cruises that go from and back to Southampton when I believe there are informal evenings as well.

There has now been a u-turn on this and Carnival Corporation has decided to return the ship to P&O.
