Prices for single passengers are considerably more, they frequently have to pay up to a third more for the same cabin, the only cheap way of doing it is to share a cabin but not everone is happy with that arrangement, its down to who you have to share it wit.
I travelled as a single passenger 24th sept 2007 & i paid the price of 2 people in a double cabin. am going again june 2008 with a friend this halves the price for me & am i glad.
