My mother 95 died in October last year and she was an avid cruiser who loved QE2 and every Christmas on her own she was off cruising. I asked the funeral director to give me a small box of her ashes (like a biggish matchbox) together with a letter of declaration as to what they were (In case anyone thought they were drugs!) We plopped her overboard on Christmas day in the Carribean, all her family there. We made sure it was late at night and right at the back of the ship lowest point available promenade deck in case it blew over anyone- We felt that was the right thing to do and she would have loved it .

P&O Cruises recently announced that that would be building a 9th ship to join the P&O Fleet in 2020. This comes only two years after the Britannia was released and I am pleased to say that after quite a few problems she has become a firm favourite in the P&O Fleet.Hopefully P&O will take forward the feedback on Britannia but we are yet to see what this new ship will look like; all P&O have said is that she will be 180,000 Gross tons and carry 5,200 Guests. This is the larg...
