Have cruised 3 times on OV1 in the caribbean, our first was in A149 (opposite side of ship to A150), approximately "Midship".
It's a balcony cabin around TWICE the size of the other cabins... Regarding the trips, OV are pricey, as are all cruise lines... so give it a go yourselves. When you get off the ship, talk to other passengers, do share a cab, but the more the merrier. If enough of you get together, a minibus will be cheaper again.... DON'T accept the first price offered, DO tell the driver what YOU want to do (not him tell you where HE GOES), and any decent driver will only take payment when He drops you off back at the Ship. We did the same trip on Tortola as the ship (OV - £35pp) (our trip - $15pp or £8approx) We passed the OV busses everywhere we went, and were given longer at the beach than OV customers....Happy cruising....ENJOY .
Always more interesting and cheaper to DIY. Checkout the PORTS section in my signature for ideas of what to do.
Oh, not again. Is the site you are promoting so bad that it needs you continually promoting it. It is by far the most difficult site to find anything of use on.
I have read on this site over the last couple of days good comments about the area where A150 is sited. I am going on 30th Oct and will be in A154, so I will report back after, so keep an eye out for the report!
Most trips can be done on your own as taxis are plentiful and most have set charges for trips. if you can get another couple to share even better. I find that going later in the morning not only helps getting breakfast, you are not battling with every trip from every cruise ship thats' in that day. We booked over the internet for the Dolphin experience in Tortola, for instance. They even told us the taxi fare ($4)We had a whole pool with dolphins to ourselves (4)and it was much cheaper. The ships trips shared the dolphins with 12 people at a time. We were not with OV but trips are fairly the same and the same cost. Shirley heights and Nelsons dockyard cost us $40 for 4 people and we had the places to ourselves as the coaches had gone. Be brave - it is very easy in the caribbean. remember to bargain!
