I always pack a couple of bottles of brandy in my suitcase and they are kindly taken to my cabin by OV. I then ensure that prying eyes are not given the chance to confiscate them. I buy mixers on board and enjoy my brandy with dry ginger on my balcony. Wonderful!

Ihave been on Ocean Village 4 times and I am not aware of the cases being scannedafter the airport. They are taken to the ship in a container then hoisted on board and left outside your cabin. all hand luggage is checked everytime you return to the ship mainly looking for booze, so if that is what you have in mind load up!! You can buy wines/spirits on board but they charge corkage. You will have a great time in the informal atmosphere,I am going again at Christmas,it's a great holiday!
