Hi there - we are flying out to join ov1 on 25th MArch so if you are there for 2 weeks we will cross over. We have been on OV! 3 times previously and each one has been a wonderful experience. As with all holidays some bits are better than others - the entertainment is not as good quality as some (more expensive) ships but is plesantly passes a few hours whilst sailing to the next port of call. I wouldn't worry about any negative reviews you have read - it is so flexible you can adapt the holiday to your own needs. HAve a brill time.

One of my colleagues at work has just returned from his first ever cruise on OV2. he says that he had a fantastic time and would definitely do it again. he and his new wife particularly seemed to enjoy the rum punch served on their balcony before dinner as the ship sailed away to its new destination and they watched the sun set over the sea, before going down for dinner. Honestly he did not have a bad word to say about the whole experience (and he wasn't that keen to go in the first place). There will be loads of other first time cruisers, so just relax and enjoy.

We are going on the same trip. We've been on OV1 before doing a Greek Cruise and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are lots of negative reviews about OV but a holiday is what YOU make it. We chose this new cruise for it's ports of call. OV is a very informal ship so no dressing for dinner nonsense. You can eat where you want, whenever you want, with who ever you want. Some people have complained about the food, well we are vegetarians so don't have as much choice as everyone else but we found loads of variety and lots & lots to eat. Never paid to go to the fancy restaurants but may do on this one if we want a change as it's 2 weeks. Entertainment, in my opinion (and loads of others) is rubbish but then we like sitting and talking to fellow passengers. We are not party people and so go to bed fairly early so we are refreshed for the long days of excursions ahead. Don't be nervous - you'll have a great time.

Two nights on Indy..

By Alison Ranaldi

Last week I spent two nights on the newly revamped Independence of the Seas.We sailed from Southampton in glorious sunshine to Le Havre and back. This was my third time on board this ever-popular ship and I was keen to see the changes to her after a big refit. We had a balcony cabin on deck 9 which had everything we needed for a comfortable break. I’m not generally a fan of mini-cruises. They offer an excellent way for someone like myself to see the ships but I do not think they are a g...
