BLYTH - Answered a Question by Carr (14 Jul 08 10:24)

You should check with UK Passports but it looks as though a photocopy of the back page and your seapass is all that is required. As to how many copies one for at least each port you call at and maybe one or two spare just in case, but don't carry more than two copies at any one time and keep them seperate.

Forgot you are a first time cruiser and your seapass will be given to you when you arrive at the ship for accessing your cabin and for use when you purchase drinks; items from the duty free shop on board, in other words a cashless society whilst you are on the Norwegian Jewel or any other ship in the future.

Neil and Ida Down - Answered a Question by Carr (14 Jul 08 14:05)

If you are able to laminate your copy of your passport page you need only have the one copy for each person and it will stand you in good stead for many trips and looks very official. Laminating machines and the plastic pouches needed are comparatively cheap now and so useful for so many different things. Ida.

Quite often the ship will take your [asssport from you and only return it to you at the end of the cruise or if you actually need it at a particular port.

Assume you are talking about Russia - on the first day there you hand in a copy of your passport page - not needed when you get off the ship on the 2nd day. I hope you are taking a private tour rather than the ships tours. I recommend http://alla-tour.com/.

Is River Cruising Accessible?

Top of my river cruising bucket list has to be the Mekong, gliding through Vietnam and Cambodia – one day I hope! You would think that river cruising would be perfect for people with limited mobility, smaller ships with less passengers on, only three decks etc, but is river cruising really ideal for wheelchair an...

Ive had a great time!...

Sam Smith's blog

It seems to me these days that people spend so much time moaning and whingeing about this and that, nothing works like it should and nothing is ever good enough, I thought it nice to share the thoughts of this refreshingly positive chap recently stranded on the NCL Star out in Australia.Francis Lahue and his wife were passengers of the Norwegian Star as it faced engine problems last Friday morning after leaving port. The luxury cruise ship was forced to bob without direction 30km off the coas...

Japan Week

By Robin Clarke

Robin Clarke's blog

So this week marks the Japan week promoting various different cruise lines that are incorporating a stay and cruise, with new 2018 itineraries now in place. So why is Japan a top destination in 2017 – Here’s what my colleague Holly had to say.“Japan had proved to be a top destination for 2017 and is already in demand for 2018 so why is this the case? After visiting Japan myself in 2016 and also with Joanna Lumley’s Japan airing on ITV in September 2016 it really is of n...
