Q: Hi there...

Does anyone know if you have to pay for the bowling and if it gets very busy, or is the ample oppertunity to have a bowl?

Have heard roumour the gratuities on drinks etc have gone up to 17% - Anyone know if this is right?

Are drinks packages available on NCL, and if so at what cost?

Any help would be gratefully received.

Anyone else booked on this cruise, we'd love to hear from you and meet up...?

NCL have joined cruise.co's forum, and have finally answered the question about the tips on drinks....No, they have not gone up! It's still 15% Try the roll call on the forum for your cruise (button at the top of the page). We're on her in Oct.- Jo.

Sorry, Ricky. Go to the top of THIS page, and on the right side you'll see "Cruise Forums". Hit that button, then scroll down the index to Roll Calls, and look for NCL. If you wish to join the forum, you'll find the instructions on there (not much different to posting a question). I'll read you on there!- Jo.

Thanks Jo - Found it... My cruise wasn't listed so I sent an email to "'newmusterstation@cruise.co.uk'" as instructed. Many thanks for your help :)

Been on the Gem did the bowling and thoroughly enjoyed it, yes there is a charge but you are on holiday. It can get busy but there are 4 alleys and you do not wait long. Wait until you see the large double beds that everyone chills out on.....Do not know about the extra gratuity charge and yes the drink prices are a rip off but again you are on holiday, go and enjoy.

Thanks Dave... Have seen pics of the double beds - never seen the likes on a cruise ship before - quite looking forward to chilling on one of those...!!! I'm not bothered about the cost for bowling and quite expected there to be a charge - probably quite good that there is because at least that way everyone that wants a go gets to have a go rather than it being hogged by a few... Really looking forward to this cruise as we've been on NCL's Jewel but only for 4 days, and loved it - this time 2 weeks so hoping for very much of the same.

We have sailed with RCI and NCL a number of times and enjoyed both infact my wife just prefers NCL. The bowling is great for chilling out early evening before a couple of beers especially if you have some younger ones with you. Also check out if there are any major sporting events happening while you are on the ship. There is a giant and I mean giant screen that played the England Rugby World Cup semi final, A GREAT EVENING.
