Yes, they are private from other balconys.

Hi. We sailed on the Island Star last year. Great cruise. The balconies are separated by a screen. If you lean over you can see your neighbours and can hear what they are saying so be careful what you get up to !

Their are screens between each balcony it just depends on how private you want to be you will have a great holiday we were on the island star in october last year would be going back this year but it is your ruby wedding in october 2007 but we will be going back in 2008 .

Yes sort of if you lean over a little you can see next door but the partition wall is frosted glass anyway.so it is quite private.

Yes they have a screen, though I would *not* recomend you get the end balconys at the end of the ship. Unless you want curious travellers looking over at you all the time admiring your balcon.
