You need to take care with what is on the deck above you. We were on Sapphire and had the Beachcomber above us. Even with carpets we could hear people walking through at night and sometimes heavy thumping footsteps as it was the way through to the back of the ship. In the early morning you could also hear the sound of cleaning out of possibly the water dispensers etc. So in terms of Diamond deck I would avoid being below the green kitchen area at the stern. The area below the Island Restaurant may not be too bad as it is carpeted and is closed overnight. There would be even less noise from the Oasis and Steak House restaurants as they only open in the evenings. I note, however, that the cabins below here have 2 dots which signifies 2 drop down bunks which can be a bit of a nuisance. Avoid the area around the pub as they have a lot of loud bands playing there. Although the Ocean Theatre would be noisy during performances and rehearsals it should be quiet overnight. Hope this helps and have a good cruise.

Hi - if you particularly want this deck then I cant help but we were on deck 5 cabin 5059 which was blissfully quiet and just along from guest relations which is handy if you have any problems. the cabin had only one cabin to the side of it so only one set of neighbours although we didnt hera them at all. the other side was corridor to one of the doorways that was used only once for people to embark/disembark which was also handy! we have stayed in this particular cabin twice now and its bliss - hope this is of some use .

Fancy a Movie Night in or Away?

By Haydn Jones

There is nothing my family love more than cuddling up of a Sunday night , curtains closed, eating microwave popcorn and watching a movie. Its become a Sunday night tradition in our house. Although there is something my two boys love slightly more – movies under the stars on a cruise. We often end up missing the shows and evening entertainment, because for them this is the perfect treat. Sun loungers, blankets, hot chocolate and even pop corn and pizza bought to you whilst watching a fil...

He Cannot Be Serious...

By Anthony Burke

Anthony Burke's blog

Well the day has come and gone. As you know from my previous blog the big day has come and gone. And Im officially 40! Do I feel any different? Not at the moment but lets see if this whole ‘life begins’ is true…..On a more serious note I couldnt believe the news I read that disgraced ‘Captain Coward’ Francesco Schettino made a statement saying after arrival at his jail cell – he would cope with jail and start by going back to being a ‘ship boy’ ...
