Hi, we are going on the same cruise as you with a ten year old, we have been on the same ship before, not noisy at all, and even though there were over 100 kids on board you never saw more than a dozen at one time, you will have an amazing time, you have a great cabin and the staff are amazing. The library was deadly quiet!!! As for the weather, I was in Milan yesterday and it was lovely, T shirts. See you there!!! Joy Fullerton.

Although Island Star doesn't have the best insulated cabins I have known you have selected quite a good location in that you have cabins above and I recall that the Harbour Cafe below didn't seem to have much going on in terms of late night music etc and you may even be above the shop (which is even quieter). Strangely enough there was more inter cabin noise in the bathroom whereas in the cabin it was distant mutterings. During the day time the pool area can/will get noisy but for peace and quiet head straight down your corridor to the back of the ship where you will find sun loungers where people settle down with a good book, a drink and a great view of the sea. Alternatively go to the front of the top deck by the masts but it can be windy there. I understand the kids clubs were very good so your 11 year old should have a good time. Have a nice cruise.

MORRIS - Answered a Question by SANDERSON (18 Sep 08 21:01)

Hi - I am going on the Start 11-25th so our paths will cross - I have also booked Golden on cabins 9038/42 I think, Midship by the lift area. Was reassured it would be quieter and more stable here so lets hope! When I have stayed midship on the Escape and Sun Bird (predecessor to Island Star) it has been quiet and stable so will write review on return to let others know if this was good advice! Ihope you enjoy yourselves as I am sure I will, try not to take notice of the negative views here (in the minority) some people are quite hard to please!

Exciting news from a Celebrity

By Julia Rhodes

2018 is going to be an exciting year for cruising and Celebrity are really mixing it up a bit!For a few years now we have had the lovely Eclipse based in Southampton, which has been great as P&O, Cunard and Royal Caribbean notably dominated the port until the 5* Eclipse was based there. Just what cruisers needed. I even personally sailed on the Eclipse back in May for a mini cruise to Le Harve. It is a beautiful ship it has to be said and the food, service, cabins etc are all top notch. B...
