If you have wireless connection, you can buy air time to use your own laptop on a cruise from Brazil to the Med. You need to be near the computer room or in the Cafe Brasil as these seem to be the only areas you can get the signal. I used my Samsung Q1 which had all the programs I needed plus Skype. I cannot remember the cost, but I think it was about £12 for 2 hour.

I used my blackberry but was limited to when there was a signal, ie not whilst cruising but I dont think it is possible to use a laptop. The interenet room on the escape was a waste of time as it was so slow i gave in.

Sorry for the delay in replying... laptops & blackberrys's do work onboard. You can buy air time form the Cafe Brazil on deck 8 and Internet cafe room on deck 10. Wireless is available in the Bounty lounge, Cafe Brazil, PUB, pool deck and internet cafe. There are also a handful of deluxe cabins and suites with internet connections in them. Skype unfortunatley will not work onboard.
