Hurtigruten are essentially a cargo delivery and ferry service to mostly small Norwegian ports that depend on them for most of their supplies. Originally their ships were just that, and then they started taking a few cruise passengers. Their ships now range between cargo ships taking just a few passengers to passenger ships delivering cargo. The meal services for passengers vary according to the ship you book on! I believe that the ports of call and the cargo dictate the docking time rather than the cruise passengers time ashore! You would be wise to do a lot of homework on their website before booking for a cruise.

Try looking on there web site, some are full, some are just brekkie, some are nothing, i believe that you can order whatever package you require, they also have a coffee package as i believe coffee is about £4 a cup....They are really a ferry service between the towns and can have about 30 stops some, 20 mins some a couple of hours....Brian
