You will see the refit is being completed at Berth 104 Western Dock Southampton.
We sailed on the cruise on 13th July 2008. The refit was NOT complete. Decks were closed due to re-surfacing, carpet rolls and carpet-laying everywhere. One of the new pools over flowed causing extensive flooding. Not a happy holiday at all!
All very quiet on web based news, according to the Southampton Port website of shipping movements Braemar is supposed to be in service at the moment. However from the car park at Leisure World in Southampton the ship can be seen docked at the Mayflower terminal and has been for a couple of days. I hope that's not a repeat of the Balmoral situation earlier in the year when extensive remedial work was done following the "cut and shut" refit last November-December time.
According to the Fred. Olsen website she is due to sail from Southampton on 13 July for the Mediterranean after completing her refit in Southampton. Mind you, after refits extended delays are always possible.
This is incorrect. Her refit was NOT in Southampton.
