I have never heard of a Voucher being converted to cash, hopefully someone else might have but I have known many cases when, after polite negotiation, the Voucher expiry date has been extended to a much longer period. It does not seem right, to me, that having offered you compensation such a short time-span should be placed on it and the fact that they have offered it stands you in good stead. Have you talked with Fred Olsen? If all else fails I have known of about turns by companies when they have had the substance of the complaint sent to the B.B.C.'s "Watchdog" but before you take this drastic step try talking to them. I hope you get what you want....Nei.

Fred olsen are usually quite good about these issues and no one wants bad publicity so give them a call and see what you can do. There new cruises for 2009 come out early part of the year so perhaps if they let you extend to 2009 that you could book something early when they come out to show that you are going and then make use of the voucher. Never heard of anyone getting cash for their voucher but we have have never had to have the unfortunate instance of anything happen on the cruises that we have been on. goodluc.

To all cruisers who are worried by the Novovirus out breaks on ships or even hotels, as regular cruisers we always take a Detol Surface spray with us and first thing on occupying our cabin I spray all touching surfaces. Before retiring I also spray the air conditioning input duct, so far no problems! John Haywood,Amesbur.

Could the voucher be transferable and the person re-imberse you.

Mystical Muscat and Amazing Abu Dhabi!

By Jodie Baldwin

On Saturday I returned from a fantastic cruise around the middle east from Dubai. Next time I will let you know what I thought about the ship but today I’m going to tell you about two of the excursions I took.Dubai and the middle east are a new area of the world to me with this being my first visit. I thought a cruise would be perfect as it would give me a good insight to each place visited with the chance to see what they have to offer with a possible return visit in the future.I pre-b...

Celebrity Edge Looks Incredible!

By Freddie Moser

Freddie Moser's blog

So yesterday afternoon I was lucky to attend an online preview of some of the accommodation and facilities aboard Celebrity Cruises most ambitious ship ever built; Celebrity Edge….I’ll be honest when I first heard the name of the ship, I thought it was an awful choice. However it’s since grown on me, and after watching the presentation, I now see the logic in the name Edge. You see this ship is first and foremost all about design and technology, so phrases like ‘Cutting...

I have recently returned off the Celebrity Reflection round the Caribbean. I must say I do like going away this time of the year to get a bit of sun breaks up our long winter!!I flew into Miami on the 24th February taking a direct flight with BA from Heathrow, after a 9-hour flight and then a 2 wait to get through passport control I finally arrived at my hotel for the evening. I stayed at the Marriot Courtyard Miami Beach South Beach which was in an ideal location for an overnight stay. ...
