For a little extra touch, get in contact with Gary King, DJ on board, to play her favourite piece of music on the Radio. (Gary's my husband).

Cunard normally give you a bottle in your cabin if you tell them about birthday. Our sons ordered a bottle to be delivered to us onboard and it cost £15-25 pounds dependant on make.

Waites - Answered a Question by Betty (16 Feb 08 20:18)

I'm not sure that champagne is provided for Birthdays. If you let Cunard know they will certainly have a message on the 'in ship' TV programme, on your wife's birthday. She will also be presented with a small freshly baked 'cake' as a dessert at Dinner. Be prepared for this to be presented by your table waiters together with a rendition of'Happy Birthday'!!. So if your wife is a 'shrinking violet' be prepared!! We did have a bottle of Champagne awaiting our arrival in our 'B' stateroom, but I think this related to my having advised that it was our Wedding Anniversary the day before we boarded. As mentioned the respondent from Bebington, the champagne and drinks generally are value for money, even with the 15% service added each time. Hope you enjoy your trip, we certainly enjoyed ours.

Norwegian Cruise Line to Add ...

I find it hard to believe that given the amount of family friendly cruise options around these days, all of which include swimming pools, some even large scale on board water parks that it’s not compulsory for cruise companies to employ lifeguards, especially when you consider some of the recent tragedies that have occurred.Norwegian Cruise Line have announced that it will be joining Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Lines in employing certified lifeguards at all of the family pools acr...
