I need to get from St Pancreas Station in London to South Hampton June 1st to beard the Qm2. Does Cunard have any transportation? I tired to connect to cruise connect but their email is not working, Any other ideas? I private car is inane 200 GBP, I'd rather spend that on sea bands and dramamine!!

We used the evesway from Southampton to Barnsley in March this year. It was well organised at Southampton, we left around 10.00 am and arrived around 3.00pm. 1st stop for lunch on service area at junction of A43/M1. Second stop at Trowell Nottingham ( short stop for transfers ) I dislike coach travel but it was tolerable with onboard toilets, it was not as bad as expected. We are doing Manchester to Southampton in a couple of weeks so it did not put me off. To sum up - no worse than eight hours on an uncomfortable Thomas Cook plane. Hope this helps.

We travelled from leeds to Southampton on september 22nd. I wouldn`t do it again. The coach was very old. I don`t think our driver knew the way.! We travelled down with another coach who were sailing with Royal Caribbean. we stopped 4 times. mainley for the drivers to get together for a chat and a smoke. Our last stop was about 30 mins from the docks! NEVER AGAIN!!!

Done Leeds to Southampton twice, find it best to go down the day before, a nice leisurely drive and book into a hotel overnight. Have a wander around the town in the morning and go to the ship just after lunch. Most of the cruise lines are offering free car parking at the dockside for 200.

Because there is no Evesway pick-up in our area we use National Express and have found them to be good. They don't go to the docks but taxis are available at the Southampton Harbour Parade coach station to take you direct to the terminal for £4. National Express could be a lot cheaper than Evesway especilly so for the over 60s.

Hunter - Answered a Question by Parks (20 Oct 07 19:39)

We have used both Evesway (P&O)and Coach Connect (Cunard)for traveling from Colwyn Bay to Southampton. Eveasway charged £72 per person, but cruise Connect charge £98 for the same journey and to make matters worse Cruise connect insist that you board your coach 2 hours earlier(05.15) for the same distance. We like Cunard cruises very much but dislike the transportation offered by Cruise Connect.J Hunter. COLWYN BAY.

Notice for Parks of Leeds. Did we meet on the Oriana 03 Xmas. We are traveling also on the QM2 May 08. Hope to meet again if it is you. Sure it will be a good cruise after traveling on the Qe2 twice, however not happy with cruise connect travel. Mary hunter Colwyn Bay.

Thanks to you all for your feedback. It's our first cruise, so wouldn't have met anyone previously. Regard.

Japan Week

By Robin Clarke

So this week marks the Japan week promoting various different cruise lines that are incorporating a stay and cruise, with new 2018 itineraries now in place. So why is Japan a top destination in 2017 – Here’s what my colleague Holly had to say.“Japan had proved to be a top destination for 2017 and is already in demand for 2018 so why is this the case? After visiting Japan myself in 2016 and also with Joanna Lumley’s Japan airing on ITV in September 2016 it really is of n...

Tell me what is on your Bucket List

By Lee Johnson

Lee Johnson's blog

Over the last few years here at www.CRUISE.co.uk we have seen the cruise industry change massively. Gone are the days when a simple cruise will suffice, people are now wanting more from their cruise. We are seeing a steady rise in the requirements to do a land stay prior to the cruise (or after it in some cases). Not only that but people are wanting tours and particularly escorted tours that really give an essence of that region. Our most popular package of the last few years has undoubtedly been...

Do You Remember The Cruise?

By Gail Ryan

Gail Ryan's blog

Do you remember the BBC television show that featured singer Jane McDonald and helped launch her television career?Well, whatever you thought are about that, she is currently on our television screens on Channel 5 presenting a new series about cruising. Have you had a chance to watch it yet?If you haven’t, I would recommend that you try to and catch up on the first two programmes – there will be 4 in total. To be honest I though it may be a bit cheesey! But I have to say that I ...
