Actually Muscat in Oman is not in the U.A.E it has its own currency the Rial if I remember rightly...however we used dollars (and even euros) everywhere when we went...although its probably researching the exchange rates for local currency it might be a better deal nowadays! I'm not 100 per cent sure that Bahrain is in the UAE either..perhaps worth checking!!

Can only answer regarding the Dirham & yes it can be used in all of your stops, as they are in within the U.A.E .Enjoy your trip, I love the Emirates as a destination.

I forgot to mention the dress code....yes it is very relaxed on costa cruises...my partner wore blazer and trousers on formal nights and was well dressed compared to some of the other diners! (One woman in cut off jeans. tshirt and trainers!!!) I wore black evening trousers and glittery tops most nights.

Sorry for not being spot on, I lived in the gulf from 8 years old till I was 20, when ever I got to travel with my family we used the Dirham, Like most of the Emirates if the shops want your business they will take what ever currency you have.

I will be on the same cruise with my wife Maria I will just use dollars and credit cards as we wont be spending huge If we do will be credit cards See you on the boat Who did you book the cruise with? Do you know any of the countries we go to? Do you want to team up to arrange our own sight seeing trips in taxis etc? Smart casual and casual is the best bet for dress most of the time Did you know Costa charge you for every little extra that they can so be warned they can add up espescially as this is a loooooong cruise! It will be "begging" March by the end!! Cheers Andrew .

Recentley returned from the Dubai cruise on Costa Classica. The euro was accepted in all the ports we visited. On formal nights (there were 2) there was a mix of dinner suits/suits/shirt and tie. We prebooked tours on line before we left in Muscat and Desert safari in Dubai and saved a fortune against Costas prices. We walked into Fujayrah - 3 miles and got a taxi back it cost less than £2.00 for 4! Had a great cruise and would visit the area again.

Could you buy wine and water in ports for your cabin or do they confiscate it untill you leave the ship?

I was amazed at the current rehabilitation programmes that are in place for specific species that are native to this small Island. So not only do these ‘Isles of Enchanment’ have amazing history but also some beautiful species of marine and wildlife.Puerto R...
