We too are off on the Equinox in December. She has yet to be launced (new Aug 09) but should be along the lines of the Solstice. If you copy and paste this into your browser this shows some fab pictures of the ship - It will show evey thing you need to know as there are over 450 pics and shows some good shots of the interior of the cabins. One of the pics right on the last page (page 26) shows the dressing table drawer open with a pic of the hair dryer. What date are you travelling? http://www.flickr.com/photos/32299497@N04/ .

Five star line so five star prices. Yes more expensive than P&O plus 15% grat if indeed it's the drinks etc. your referring to. The ship is still in build at the moment, but it's 'twin' Solstice has wall mounted hairdryers in the bathroom in every cabin.......Wilba .

Sorry to disagree there are some pictures posted on web which shows the dressing table drawer open with a conventional hair dryer. I have already tried to post the link but the automoderater has kicked my answer out. Just in case it dosent come through I'll take you through a different route. Put Celebrity soltice into the search box above and search this site. There was a post by Aldridge on 12 Nov 08 with a link. Copy and paste the link - there are over 450 pics of Solstice which is the prerunner to Equinox. Equinox is newly launched in Aug this year. There are great pics - you can see all sorts of interior shots. The photo I am talking about is on Page 26 one of the last photos.

Ignore my last!!! BUT Celebrity FAQ states hairdryers for Solstice exactly as I have stated, so we can blame Celebrity for the confusion. Anybody been on Solstice who can confirm, maybe there is both bathroom & dressing table dryers???

I must admit I did have this image in my head of having seen one of those tube type pull out things in the bathroom - but with 450 odd pics to search!!! I knew I had also seen the pic of the one in the dressing table drawer. Perhaps if you have a really luxurious suite you get both?

Hi Wilba I am sure I picked up somewhere there is a hair dryer whether on the wall on in a drawer in the toiltet area not sure, but the comments on this area are extremely good everyone likes the idea of a door on the shower instead of a curtain and due to new approach on design there is more room in this area as well as in the main stateroom. There were some comments re storage i.e. drawers but the beds are higher easy to use your suitcases for certain items that don't need to be hang up of put in a drawer, we normally do things this way as it is ... Bill.

Hi Bill, we've recently booked Equinox for December & I can honestly say it's the first time I've been excited about a cruise ship for a good few years... Regards Wilba.

BLYTH - Answered a Question by Dawson (16 Jan 09 13:37)

Photo link http://www.depping-design.de/test/thumbnails.php?album=88 We use Celebrity a lot last Ferbruary in Australia/New Zealand on Mercury and Sept 2007 in the Carribean on Galaxy and in a few months time we will be back in the Caribbean on Solstice and intend doing a full review with prices and as many other items as is practical, unless some else beat me to it. The price we pay for drinks was $12.95 for Gordons Gin & Tonic and Rum and lemonade, so at todays dollar price about £8 for two drinks and thats not bad for a 4 star cruise ship compared with a hotel. My wife gets a blow dry for $38 or around £26 at todays dollar. Now what they are charging on the new ship should be the same in theory. The comments from those who have been on the ship is it is stunning and most give ratings of 5 or 5 plus. the one area and not claer why was some rated the AquaSpa facility at only 4. There certainly has been no complaints on bar prices so far but early days. I have some more up-to-date photo's than the above site which was in August close to the ship being finished at the boat yard so have a look at http://billblyth.co.uk.

Two nights on Indy..

By Alison Ranaldi

Last week I spent two nights on the newly revamped Independence of the Seas.We sailed from Southampton in glorious sunshine to Le Havre and back. This was my third time on board this ever-popular ship and I was keen to see the changes to her after a big refit. We had a balcony cabin on deck 9 which had everything we needed for a comfortable break. I’m not generally a fan of mini-cruises. They offer an excellent way for someone like myself to see the ships but I do not think they are a g...

Cunard are planning on relaxing their dress codes!!!Alot of Cunard customers are not very happy with the news of a relaxed dress code. Part of the beauty cruising with Cunard is all about dressing up for their formal evenings. Cunard have said that this is because they want to accommodate guests embarking and disembarking in destinations such as Rome, Venice, Barcelona and Athens. They said: Guests will be flying to meet the ship from all over the world and arrival times on board may vary.Bas...

Royal Princess

By Emily Watts

Emily Watts's blog

Last week I was lucky enough to experience Royal Princess which was also my first time on a Princess ship. It was everything I expected and more. as soon as we got on board I was impressed with the decor and the grandness, it really is a beautiful ship. Our cabin was located on Baja deck B215 which had a balcony and for two sharing it is very spacious. Princess prides themselves on the beds and it was probably one of the most comfortable ones I have ever slept on. After embarkation, we...
