I echo Mr Kendall- why would you buy something if you don't know what it does or gives you. ?? Have you gone to X website where it clearly lists the 'benefits' of a CC cabin, or even picked up a brochure and it is clearly listed in black and white?

Many thanks for your kind reply. We have of course, looked at the list, we just wondered, never having cruised Celebrity before, if there are any insider tips which would help us?? For instance, we have cruised Princess many times, but only found out earlier this year that you could request a bath robe. Other people's experiences can be most helpful, and I have many times tried to help people with answers on this website. We've only just booked this cruise and are so much looking forward to it, any hints to help us get the most from it would be much appreciated.

Hi Have traveled with celebrity about 6 times now. excellent service and we have booked the mercury out from balimore in jan 2010 and also the baltic in Aug 2009. Have traveled as conciege class before but only as an upgrade. A lot of people think its worth it. Im not sure but only because we now go into in door cabins and cruise much more often. I hope they have the free iceream ,as in the millenium stile ships, its wonderful and open most of the day. We like the indoor pools on celebrity in case the weather is iffy. Also the trip to the baltic an indoor pool was wonderful last time to gently sail out of stockholm watching the acapeligo (not sure on spelling) as we drift along. highly recommended.

Many thanks for your reply. We booked this cruise very last minute, a thing we've never done before, but your comments have encouraged us we've done the right thing! We have cruised with Princess many times but were very disappointed the last twice as we thought standards had slipped, and deep cutbacks had been made. This will be our first Celebrity cruise. I love icecream too and will look forward to that!

Neil & Ida Down - Answered a Question by Leech (27 Nov 08 11:50)

Hi, .....A. of N has listed all the extras you can expect, we always go Concierge Class because it gives us the cruising luxury we hope for, we think it's value for money and I am sure that you will enjoy it too. Celebrity give more than most other cruise lines in their class so you will get the polish of X plus Concierge. Best wishes Ida.

Many thanks. Have not cruised Celebrity before. Apart from the list of extras, which we have read contrary to what the other rude people who answered think, is there anything else about Concierge that would help us? We just sort of wanted insider tips!

Not really, but if you like wine don't forget to take your two bottles allowance with you when you board, they normally provide a corkscrew but I always take my own and a glass with the canapes before dinner is very pleasant. We've managed a party or two as well and have been given extra canapes for that. You'll just love those pillows too. We think it is worth signing up for the Connections Party held for certain guests by Celebrity, you could check that out. Ida.

Ports of Call or Sea Days?

By Lee Johnson

After booking a passenger yesterday on a 24 night Caribbean cruise from Southampton return it got me thinking about the different itineraries, some that are port intensive and some that have lots of Sea days, as this one did.Having taken my first Cruise back in 2002 on board the QE2 transatlantic to New York I fell in love with the cruise experience during those sea days. There was always something going on, be that Ballroom dancing or learning the tango (I didn’t do any of this for th...

Adonia back with P&O

By Gemma Coles

Gemma Coles's blog

It doesn’t seem that long ago when we said goodbye to the P&O Adonia. P&O Adonia left the fleet in 2015 with much sadness to lots of passengers. The ship went to Fathom Cruises which is a line dedicated to volunteer tourism. Guests were taken to locations such as the Dominican Republic to help teach English or build water filtration systems to help with poorer countries. Carnival Group have now announced that after an upgrade to the ship, with the addition of a new rest...
