Neil Down - Answered a Question by whetton (08 Aug 07 23:21)

You go to Alaska and you get pot luck as far as the weather is concerned. I went a couple of years ago in Spetember, in fact the last cruise of the season. The weather apart from 2 days was brilliant even in Ketchikan where they get 13 feet of rain a year. Take some waterproofing for almost certainly you will get some rain but enjoy Infinity and Alaska they are both beautiful Neil Down .

We must have been on the same Infinity cruise in September 2005 as the previous replier. We were late arriving at the Hubbard Glacier because of the weather but the ship sailed through the rough seas spectacularly and the Captain did a great job sailing into the waves.

I agree, you do take pot luck with the weather. We had heavy rain the whole of our cruise. Friends had been to the same place a month earlier and had beautiful weather. Like a boy scout, be prepared for all types of weathe.

Agree. Just take a good waterproof topcoat. The fleeces for sale in shops at the ports of call are less than half the price of the UK and there is a vast varity to choose from.

Aspinall - Answered a Question by whetton (25 Aug 07 13:05)

Just returned from alaska weather was good cold morning and night. Need a mixture of clothes jumpers and jackets that you can take of if warm. I agree the jackets and fleeces in the shops are very cheap so buy them there submitted by Aspinall Brighouse 25 Aug 2007.

The ones to watch

By Marie Turner

Over the past few years i would say cruising as a whole has really moved on in the holiday market, forcing all cruise lines to really pull out the stops. We have had the likes of Royal Caribbean and NCL launching monster vessels, P&O changing their tradional itineraries to keep up with Demand in popular areas such as Malta and Dubia. Also MSC and Princess bring our technically advanced ships, but recently a little unknown cruise line are also making waves and for me are very much the ones...

Navigator of the Seas.what ...

By Abbi Varela

Abbi Varela's blog

As you may know I’ve just returned from a week on board Navigator of the Seas, we sailed from Southampton to Spain, Portugal and France and the cruise was during the school holidays. We had a really fantastic time, and my little girl really loved the ship….which little girl wouldn’t? All in all we had a great cruise and I would without question sail with Royal Caribbean again perhaps next time we’d like to try one of the newer bigger ships. This cruise was our first as...

My Oceania Experience

By Anne Eaves

Anne Eaves's blog

I have recently returned from a 5 night cruise on Oceania Insignia and one word sums it up, Wow.This was my first time sailing on Oceania and the whole experience was exceptional. My colleague Danielle and I flew to Bordeaux to meet the ship and were met with a seamlessly smooth embarkation. We had a B1 Verandah Cabin on Deck 6 which was good size with plenty of storage space although the bathroom was fairly small but supplied with lovely Bvgari toiletries. As we didnt embark till 7pm it was ...
