When in Russia it's best to do the ship excursion as it's easier to deal with visa / immigration bits this way.

Have recently been in the baltic with Princess cruises. If you like walking I would suggest you do the walking tour of Copenhagen. We found it very informative with an excellent local tour guide. Copenhagen itself is a very nice city to visit.

We did a Baltic cruise 3 years ago. In every port except St Petersburg we 'did our own thing'. In Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm you can take a canal trip at reasonable cost and as the ships usually berth near the city centre it's not dificult to find these trips. They will also be much cheaper than the ones the cruise ship will offer. The old town of Tallin is beautiful-well worth just wandering around it on your own. In St Petersburg you really need to book the trips organised by the cruise ship as otherwise you will need to apply for a visa months in advance. The ship also docks a long way from the city centre. Enjoy your cruise!

Travelling the Globe!

By Stacey Williams

I am so excited for tomorrow as I have been invited to London for the annual Globe Travel Awards. I have never been to an awards ceremony before so I was over the moon to receive an invite from the amazing MSC Cruises. My plan is to pack in the morning just before travelling as we have been so busy at Cruise HQ I have had no time to organize anything. My train is booked for 9am from Dumfries to Carlisle and then onto Euston. I will (hopefully) arrive at around 1pm. I then need to navigat...

Lago di Garda

By Dawn Gardener

Dawn Gardener's blog

Back in october 2016, 5 colleagues and myself escorted a group from the MSC Splendida to Lake Garda and Venice. This was the first time I had been to Lake Garda or known locally as Lago di Garda. I was really looking forward to seeing this region of Italy and the famous lake that bring millions of visitors each year to this area of northern Italy. The lake is the largest in Italy and also has numerous small islands, from the main towns you can take the lake ferry which does a round trip s...
