We sailed on Mercury end August 2007 to Alaska, we found her to be a beautiful ship, we were CC cabin on Penthouse deck, very clean and comfortable. Food was 1st class in the restaurant and we were very happy with everything. I'm sure you'll enjoy - you could read my review which was posted here in Sept last year.

Aldrich - Answered a Question by Robinson (30 Mar 08 11:27)

Review I have just read from last week "We were just off Mercury this past Sunday, after 29 days onboard. She is a lovely ship, with a very elegant feel to it. The soft goods (bedding, towels, etc.) were excellent, and the furnishings, both in our cabin or around the ship were in great condition. One of things that had changed for the better, was the replacement of outdoor tables and chairs on the Aft, Deck 11. They are now all teak. It has made this venue extremely nice. This was our 8th time on this particular ship, and we'll be on Mercury again in September" As for food: Dining features include a Deli, Pasta and Pizza Bar, Sushi, cooked to order omelets, Coffee bar. Bar Service includes the usual venues plus a, Champagne Bar, Michaels Club, and one of the best Martini Bars afloat. Buffet: The Mercury offers the same casual dining service in the buffet. You can either make a reservation and be waited on by a waiter, assistant waiter, etc; or just show up for the self service buffet. It is a Celebrity ship - you cannot go wrong.

Hi Former Mercury passenger Aldrich, Many thanks for your feed back, it certainly sounds as though we will not be disappointed. When one reads so many conflicting reports you wonder if you have done the right thing. Our minds are now put at rest. Once again, many thanks.

A Right Royal Caribbean Dress ...

By Hannah Wilson

Over the last few years there has been a general drift towards more casual attire during the evening on certain cruise lines. P&O and Cunard have done away with semi-formal evenings and now just have Formal or Casual attire while Celebrity have introduced Evening Chic which is really evening casual by another name. The latter is proving especially popular with men who no longer have to find room in their suitcase for their dinner suit, also those who hate formal attire when they are on ho...

Its Launch time again

By Lee Johnson

Lee Johnson's blog

I have been in the cruise industry now for around 16 years and one thing that I always remember is the excitement over P&O Launch. Normally P&O would release their programme for the coming year in March / April time (May at one time I recall). The new Programme or brochure would normally be for Sailings April to end of March (so this launch following the traditional path would normally be April 18 to March 19 for instance).BUT there has been a dramatic change to them whereby they ac...

Celebrity Edge is on its Way

By Robin Clarke

Robin Clarke's blog

So the brand new Celebrity Edge has now gone on sale for her maiden voyage on the 16th of December starting her Caribbean voyages where she will be based in Fort Lauderdale. This ship is like no other at sea with so many fantastic new amenities on-board such as the new infinite balconies which even I was blown away by this. The balcony itself is now within the cabin and has a separator if you wish to use it to separate the balcony from the cabin. You then have a switch that you can push that ...
