I have never cruised with Celebrity

Further to the previous answers the restricted view cabins are sold as that and it tells you which in the brochure ? You get a good mix of age groups and sometimes a nice mix of Nationalities but not to many children. The newer Solstice class ships are big but the way they are laid out it does not feel like it very easy to find your way around . The Millennium class ships a bit smaller but quite spacious,you can expect very good food and service on all there ships. book one and enjoy it Taffy

PG of A has hit it on the head when he says "large ship" If you would prefer the intimacy of a smaller ship and are able to fly (with or without the help of a plane) I would consider Azamara - part of the Celebrity family. In my opiinion the standards are slightly higher but it does lack some of the glitz. I would not consider Cunard (unless I could afford Grill Class) and I too would avoid P&O.

PG of A here, Wilba has answered the question to his usual impeccable standards. All I can add are you will love it, Celebrity ships are head and shoulders above all other large cruise ships out there. The only one that approaches them is Queens Grill on the QM", you will however pay three times as much for a very similar suite. I have sailed 5 times with Cunard all in Queens Grill and personally it really is not as good as Celebrity. You may well ask why I cruise with Cunard why not stick to Celebrity, quite simple we do not fly and Celebrity ships are only based in the UK from May to October so if we want a cruise outside those times then it has to be Cunard - P&O is NOT an option for us. I would say all Celebrity ships are suitable for 'seniors', I'm one myself, but the Solstice ships DO have some obstructed view balcony's on deck 6...........wilba
