Filight do go direct from London. We have just returned on Solstice. You are supplied cold tea daily in Aqua class. room service is available all the time and very good. You can also pick up a tea and take it back to your statroom. There is also a lovely coffee lounge which costs 4 dollars with complimentary pastry you can have a take away. A nice daily treat. We didn't get round to all the shows but fellow guests were highly complimentary.

No tea & coffee in the room but room service is free and excellent on Celeb. We are big Celeb fans and particularly like the Solstice class ships. as someone else said it is worth asking your travel agent to book extra nights in the Hilton Caribe & book flights and cruise only. You often get a better deal. Book pre cruise tho in case there is any problem with the outward cruise. Let me know if you'd like more info.

The two most likely options will be Miami and Newark where you can collect your cases and go through the procedures before boarding your flight to San Juan which will then be like our domestic and no need other than to collect your cases and meet up with the reps for the transportation to your hotel if you have booked the full package with Celeb. I think Celeb have around 5 hotels in San Juan. The Caribe Hilton is one and the Ambassador and Casino is another, the others escape me for the time being. I am not a great believer in booking our own flights we have had a few problems with weather and aircraft delays going Stateside....Bill

Sorry been away today, but yes you wil have to pay for breakfast and any other items such as drinks unlikely you will need an evening meal as the arrival time depending on your flight will probably mean yo may not be at the hotel until late om. We don't arrive there until around 1 a.m. so we won't need anything other than breakfast and we will likely leave 11.30/12 for the ship usually you have either to take your cases to the central point of someone from the hotel will collect them....Bill

Yes, it is room only! The breakfast is excellent but expensive. I think it is $26 each. The hotel is wonderful! Drinks are very expensive though. All drinks were $8 each! It's worth emailing the hotel direct and asking if you could have a sea view. [check the website] It was our wedding anniversary when we went. We told them that and we got a lovely room! Old San Juan is great with lots of outlet shops. We loved it all.

There is a Subway just outside the entrance where you can get a cooked breakfast with coffee for $5 !! great value. No tea and coffee facilities in the cabin, but we took our travel kettle in our hand luggage and there was no objection.

Your flights will be via a US mainland hub with whichever airline gives Celebrity the best deal, you should expect to arrive in San Juan late evening the day before you embark and assuming you have bought a fly/cruise package Celebrity will have booked a room only for that night. Old San Juan is a lovely town and my reccommendation would be to add at least an extra day's stay before going on the ship to see the area. We were on Millenium in April 2009 before her refit, there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the cabin but room service was quick & accurate. Food in both main dining room and buffet was good and standards were same on Constellation earlier this year. We thought entertainment on Millenium was the best we had experienced whereas on Constellation it was much below par, it all depends on your personal tastes; on both there was a classical quartet, an acapello group, several singers & bands throughout the ship plus the production numbers in the main theatre. There are substantial savings to be made by arranging your own filghts which would more than cover the cost of a pre cruise stay in San Juan.

Royal caribbean are 'standard' and Celebrity are 'premium', so generally the food and standards of service should be higher.
