We have just returned from a 10 night southern Caribbean cruise from Miami on the NCL Sun, our third NCL cruise. We decided to spend 2 nights in Miami pre-cruise and stayed in the Bayside area of Miami, a safe area to stay and only 5 minutes taxi ride...  Read More >>

Question

Report
Hi, my girlfriend works on board the Carnival Sensation. I am hoping to go out and see her for a holiday in June. However, it is going to be extremely expensive because - A) I am travelling alone so will have to pay the double occupancy. B) Because the cruises are only 3 & 4 days I will have to book 2 cruise to go for a week, or 4 cruises for a fort night.

The staff do not get discount in their 1st year of emplyment. Does anybody know any ways around this?

Cheers.

Yes, well they do say that, 'absence makes the heart grow fonder.' But they also say that, 'while the cats away the mice will play.'

Those Carnival 3/4 nighters can be the cheapest in the world if you look at the US travel agent websites, around $200 dollars per cruise, although you have chosen the most expensive month, June, with prices around $350. I can't help with the single occupancy issue but a flight booked well in advance to Orlando for Port Canaveral needn't be a major expense. Can't you find a friend to share?

Have you thought of going outside school vacation times? Fares are much cheaper then... you might even get a break on the single supplement- not much but 150% rather than 200%.
