We have cruised with several larger cruise ships and have just returned from a Black Sea cruise with Azamara Quest which was fantastic. We would definitely cruise with them again. We have nothing but praise for every aspect of this holiday and would highly recommend Azarma to anyone. Patricia Brody

We have cruised on both th Azamara Journey and Quest. Facilities are obviously limited when compared with the Celebrity Millenium class ships but they are both much more homely. The quality of the food is excellent and the standard of service and friendliness of the staff could not be bettered. With only 700 persons max tendering is much easier and on our most recent cruise to the Black Sea 3 tenders were used and getting on and off the ship was so easy. On the bigger ships it is like living in a large town whereas on these ships it is much more like being in a friendly village. Entertainment is one area where these ships suffer as they do not have the space for the West End style shows so the range of entertainment offered is very limited and you do get good and bad depending on your tastes. All in all the smaller ships have advantages over the larger ones in that they can moor alongside where their larger sisters have to anchor and tender or are confined to the port area which is not always very picturesque and can involve a long transfer to the local town. We have travelled on the Millenium class ships as well and would not hesitate to recommend the Journey or the Quest. John Bramwell

Hi We traveled from Brazil to Florida on Azamara Journey and in 25 yrs of cruising it was the only ship I was glad to get off. We had a balcony cabin on the top deck which was very narrow and I found the ship very claustrophobic with upper deck encased in tall sheets of blue tinted glass, very poor for photography, the theater is flat except for 1 little step so viewing is very poor, the on deck service is is also poor, and staff ratio is not as advertised, drinks are expensive plus an 18% tax on top and the buttler was a joke. There was little atmosphere as most were in bed by 11:30 due to the high cost of the drinks, even the casino was empty be midnight. The ship is quite nice inside and the anytime dining worked well, the food was actualy superb and the captain mingled with his passengers every night and was at the gangplank to bid everbody goodby when we left, but we would not go on this ship or this line again when the parent company Celebrity is so much better.

We have been on the Quest twice. The first time was very disappointing. The second time was considerably better. They seem to have got it together. It is lovely not having the long queues to get on and off the ship. The 2 speciality restaurants are at no extra charge and as godd as any top class restaurant food and presentation. One of the waiters and a ccocktail waitress remembered us from our previous sailing which was very nice. The open seating dining works very well. On the odd occassion you had to wait to be seated, we just had a drink at the Martini bar which was just at the entrance to the Restaurant.

We travelled on the Azamara Quest in March. This is not a luxury cruise as advertised. We choose a balcony cabin and found it to be very average, the shower/toilet was extremely small and we only got all the extras like fruit and flowerswhen we asked for them. Entertainment was poor and the gratituies obscene. We were charged $12.50 per passenger per day and 18% was added to every bar bill and service purchased. I would say that the food was good and the speciality restuarants excellent. I prefer to travel on the smaller ships as you get to know your fellow passengers but I would not sail with this company again.

Having completed a 26day cruise on the Quest and tried all sizes of ships,I prefer a bigger ship. The Quest was quite good ,staterooms with extras good ,shops poor, entertainment poor, Food and service very good,Pool area with great sunloungers good.If you do not drink you will enjoy . Hope this is of some help. Ken from Edinburgh

We travelled on Azamara Quest from Singapore to Athens in April 09 and previously had done a lot of cruising with Celebrity. We loved the Quest because of its size you get to know a lot of the passengers and crew who were very friendly and efficient. Food was excellent, especially the 2 speciality restaurants for which the charge was $5 per head. Many ships officers including the Captain often ate in the cafeteria and were friendly and approachable at all times. The enrichment lecturers were outstanding and the resident orchestra, trio, guitarist and Harp player were all brilliant. The Mosaic coffee shop served excellent tapas, snacks and wonderful pastires all at no extra charge and the selection of self service coffees in the cafeteria e.g. expresso etc was better than on other large ships. Our only complaint was the other entertainment was poor especially in comparison with Celebrity ships. In some respects they are still improving the product e.g. the TV package supplied was in need of replacement. We felt that the shop should have concentrated on more leisure clothing instead of expensive evening wear and handbags given that the dress code for the ship is smart casual with no formal nights at all. The jewellery display cabinets on deck 4 took up a lot of space which could have been better used as a lounge or another bar.

Hi, Have cruised over 20 times and I can say that when we sailed transatlantic on Journey last April, we throughly enjoyed the "smallness" of the ship, how the crew get to know you and thought the food was the best we have experienced on the ship. The desserts, pastries option where also the best we have seen .. on an american ship that is unusual! Not sure why Felice mentioned Blu as its only Aqualina and Prime C on Azamar. Blu in on the much bigger class solstice. The only downside of Azamara from our perspective was the cost of drinks/spa and the 18% adding to all drinks....add this to the poor £/$ exchange rate at the time and this was the most expensive onboard we have ever had (althought it was the longerst cruise we have had at 18 days) .. thorougly enjoyed it tho and will be going back.

Went on one of the Azamara ships last Xmas and New Year through the Panama Canal. Was not impressed with it. Food and service in main dining room at night was very slow and not particularly good, though the speciality restaurants are good, we spent most nights in Blu which was very good. Unfortunately entertainment was not good at all, especially for a Xmas and New Year cruise. Trying a larger ship again this August.

Travelled on Azamara last year and thoroughly enjoyed our cruise. We were able to visit Greek and Turkish ports that other ships aren't able to get in. Had everything we needed on a cruise ship and none of the things we didn't need. Quiet and friendly. Only downside was service in some of the bars was very slow, but it was not a major problem. Hope you enjoy, we are looking to book again.
