We were onboard the Thomson Destiny and we got into Tortola on the 27th. It was very windy and even though another two ships were expected we were the only ship to dock.

It can depend on the wind speed. We sailed into Grand Turk during Easter 2008. Costa Mediterreanea (not sure on spelling!) was already docked. However it was extremely windy and we were informed by the captain that one more knot in the wind speed would have meant us been unable to dock. If Destiny was docked, the other ships probably wouldn't have been allowed to dock because the wind speed could have increased between Destiny docking and the arrival of the other ships. Safety MUST come first.
