Never used Island but on most cruise ships you can draw on your ship-board account in the Casino supposedly for use on the machines and tables but I see no reason why you shouldn't change the chips given to you immediately for use elsewhere. Most people use a debit card at an ATM off the ship as a way to obtain US Dollars although if you are in a Caribbean country you are likely to get the local currency unless you state differently. I am not going into the ethics of drawing money on a credit card because it normally costs a lot but using the Casino method is a commission free way of doing it. It still has to be paid back some time or other. .......Neil.
