Bob Neil & Ida Down - Answered a Question by lyon (08 Dec 08 20:00)

Am I reading too much into this question or is this a fait accompli or are you seriously suggesting that one hour before embarkation your passport vanishes ? How would you have a copy of a passport except for one photostated page which would not be accepted by most countries let alone the USA. I would also add that their officials come on the ship and inspect passports long before arriving in the port so you would not be allowed to get off in the USA except to be taken to a plane to go back again. So the rather protracted answer which could increase your paranoia is NO. .......Neil.

Doubt you would get on board. Either your paranoid or have forgotten to get a passport and trying to find an excuse before you go. Depending on where the boat leaves from you wouldnt even get on board the plane without a passport. why would you think someone is going to steal your passport? Have you got a secret to hide, trying to evade the authorities or something.....I wonder if customs monitor this forum and are now checking into a lyon from rainhill?

Although in reality it is not really totally river cruising as the ships have been sailing from a UK port – Dover or Southampton.German Waterways sails ...

Friendliest Countries in the World

By Zara Kelly

Zara Kelly's blog

The inspiration for this blog comes from some clients who are travelling to Sri Lanka on holiday this year. I visited the pearl in the Indian Ocean a few years ago, and was blown away by how friendly the country is happy to chat to strangers about spices through to cricket, a passion there!I think speaking to locals give you a real insight into the destination. Other than Sri Lanka, the friendliest place I have been to is Japan, where people will literally stop you in the street if you look ...
