Neil & Ida Down - Answered a Question by Thompson (04 Dec 08 19:37)

Here is an answer which I gave to a similar question which, believe it or not, is still on this page: The weather in the Baltic is very similar to ours, it can be a little colder or indeed hotter most of the Baltic being on the same latitude as the North of England. Quite honestly weather of late seems to be pot luck anyway and last years European weather was off the charts so many times that records were of no real consequence. Take some warm clothing and rainwear and hope that you can strip it off like the Swedes do at every opportunity. Now this might sound supercilious but many of us who answer questions on here are able to because we do our research. Information is offered on this page, at the top, under "Find a Question" but many times the same question is asked on these pages. Far more information than I am giving now is in that "Find a question" facility. I'm sorry in a way that you have been in the firing line but it seem so appropriate a moment to have a go. .......Neil .

Sex, drugs and ports of call. ...

By Dean Michaelides

Dean Michaelides's blog

I recently read an article from a former cruise ship employee. He was explaining that having sex, taking drugs and making friends in the onboard sex dungeon was a regular occurrence on board one Caribbean cruise liner. Despite having sex with the clients being a sackable offence the staff would have no qualms getting involved. He also mentioned that the riskier the better so as well as having sex in the staff decks they would like to push the boundaries on the unpopulated decks. It wasn’...

Piraeus Athens Gateway Or ...

By Camilla Edwards

Camilla Edwards's blog

Continuing my look at European ports this week I thought I`d choose Piraeus, the port for the Greek capital Athens.Athens is probably most famous for the Acropolis, topped by the Parthenon Temple, and the National Museum. It is a bustling, busy city with lots to do and a place I have visited several times. It has lots of really good hotels, restaurants and bars as well as its history. Many cruise ships now visit Athens using Piraeus as the anchor port. The port sits about 7 miles from the city...
