Neil & Ida Down - Answered a Question by Markham (03 Dec 08 16:05)

The weather in the Baltic is very similar to ours, it can be a little colder or indeed hotter most of the Baltics being on the same latitude as the North of England. Quite honestly weather of late seems to be pot luck anyway and last years European weather was off the charts so many times that records were of no real consequence. Take some warm clothing and rainwear and hope that you can strip it off like the Swedes do at every opportunity. We love Celebrity and put it above most other cruise lines of similar cost, they are just better than you expect. ... Neil.

Goodall - Answered a Question by Markham (03 Dec 08 18:26)

My wife and I have cruised twice on the Century. Baltic in 2005 and Arctic Circle last year. Although it was launched in 1995, its a lovely ship and Michaels Club is a great place for a drink. We found the entertainment, food and lectures very good and have no hesitation in recommending the ship. Regarding the weather, Neil is right, it is very much pot luck these days. We have cruised the Baltic twice and with the exception of one night had great weather on both cruises. We are doing the Baltic again next year on HAL Eurodam.

During this visit, she was also treated to a lovely weekend in Bali!As I sat looking through the pictures and listening to the stories, I was amazed at how much Singapore has changed. So, I have done a short interview with Jane, who has also kindly let me share some of her wonderful p...

Well its very nearly Christmas and all I wish for now is some snow! Walking the dog this morning everywhere was frosty and white, made me really feel in the festive spirit. One of the best things personally at this time of the year is the food and celebrations associated with Christmas and New Year, so this week I have decided to blog about 5 of my favourite places to eat. Some on cruise ships, some not.Fed Olsen Balmoral. I always enjoy the food on Fred`s ships and Balmoral last year was no...

NCL Gem Med Cruise

By Declan Doherty

Declan Doherty's blog

The last two stops on our itinerary were Livorno and Villefranche. As we had pre-booked the Monaco & Monte Carlo excursion for Villefranche, we opted to do our own thing in Livorno and take it easy for the day. After a short coach transfer from the port to the city center we spent most of the day shopping. There were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants and we found them to be very reasonable with plenty of choice. From here we had the option of visiting Pisa or Florence or both if you ...
