The island star is a great cruise ship not matter what reviews you read. I had the pleasure through my travel company to board the ship at Lisbon and sail back to palma with her , This ship is the old Horizon ship which Celebrity cruises owned, The whole ship has been totally refurbished and is fantastic... Did you know that in Dec 08 Island star is going to the Caribbean for a 14nt cruise prices start from £1039pp , the itinerary if superb. The only downfall ( if you could call it that) is that if you have not cruised before and your first one is a transatlantic , you will have as many as 6 days at sea , some people will not like that and get the feeling of being "trapped". If you have cruised you will love it .. my advise is GO FOR IT !!

I've not done that particular cruise but I have done a similar one with another cruise line. Of all the cruises I have done it was by far the best. i was a bit worried about the 5 days at sea that i would get bored and the ship would feel claustrophobic with everyone onboard all day but I was wrong. it did help that I had a cabin with a balcony and we got fantastc weather for the crossing. Sometimes with shorter cruises where you are at a different port everyday can be a bit tiring especially if you are getting up early to go ashore and are on second sitting at dinner, then go to the show afterwards. With the 5 or 6 days at sea you get a mix of all the hectic busy days and then a quiet period in the middle just to relax followed by more hectic days and nights again. I'd vertainly do another transatlantic crossing again. I'm sure you will have a fantastic tim.

Welcome back everyone. As promised i’m now moving on to the best part. FOOD.When it comes to the food, the offerings on board the Horizon have been considered the greatest innovation. First off we have the Guy’s Pig and Anchor Smokehouse/Brewhouse. The Guy is Guy Fieri, a tv chef who has created a burger concept specifically for Carnival and also some complimentary BBQ pit stops on a few of the previous Carnival Vessels. The Horizon is the first ship to have a proper BBQ restauran...

By Kerry James

Kerry James's blog

I have just returned from a great 3 nights on board the Royal Princess where i flew from Gatwick to Edinburgh and then met my colleagues Emily, Ava and Juliette to catch the tender from the South Queensferry pier to where the Royal Princess was anchored and where the ship was to be our home for 3 nights on the cruise back to Southampton via Le Havre. We had balcony cabins on the sailing and you can view the tour of my cabin here: https://www.facebook.com/kerryjamescruise/videos/2017205255160...
